Avoid the "D" word! You know....the "D" word. DIET! Avoid going on a DIET! Yes, you heard correct. Here's why:
When we go on something, we want to eventually go off, right? Well, diets are no different. We go on. We go off. The Yo-Yo begins and often continues.
Instead of going on a DIET go on a 'GET HEALTHY JOURNEY'.
Here are a few ways to get started:
1. Start Moving - Exercise benefits everyone and gives positive results in every area of health. Here at Fitness at The Edge we call it the Miracle Drug!
2. Keep that food journal for 7 days. If this is too long then at least for 5 days. Not only write down what you ate but the time you ate. This will help you identify any 'food habits' you may have that you can get rid of or at least be prepared for with a healthy food choice.
3. Be prepared for those weak times where you want to grab food. Have that healthy choice in hand and not those crackers or cookies! Be aware of portion sizes and how many calories - nuts are a great choice but are also higher in calories so eating 3 handfuls is not a good idea.
Remember, you wouldn't go on a outdoor journey without being prepared. A GET HEALTHY JOURNEY also needs your preparation.
