Here are some basic but effective ways to cut back on calories while changing your eating habits for the long run.

1.  Use smaller plates.  This is a very helpful tip.  Many of us are effected by what I call the disease of Portion Distortion.  With the smaller plate, we will visualize a larger portion and thus, feel more satisfied.  Try it for a week you will be surprised on how well it works.  Remember, to be consistent.

2.  After serving, put any leftovers away.  If you leave them out you and your family are more likely to overeat - out of sight and out of mind.
